The Takeover Begins, Random Sunday, Z1 Tops the 61

This week, ZeaLouS1 is all about the Takeover! He’s really enjoying his role as host of the Takeover, proudly beaming the famous Ryan Seacrest smile :P This upcoming Sunday, Z1 will interview Random, who just released his brand new album, The 8th Day, and is performing with Common at the Marquee Theater in Tempe, Arizona, this Saturday. If you missed last Sunday’s show, take a look at what went down:

“This was the first show of the new season and the start of the new structured format (still working out the kinks). We got into our Nerdapalooza SE’08 experiences, wondered why Random didn’t call in to his interview, made fun of Indian tech support, looked back at ZeaLouS1’s summer tour dates, re-pimped out Z1’s The Living Epitaph, touched on the Rhyme Torrents.org battle tourney, got into the details of Z1’s job hunt, got a family update from Mrs. Takeover, and freestyled!”

You can download the show from the site or through iTunes, all at 247Takeover.com!

And also this week, ZeaLouS1 once again made waves on the social music site, thesixtyone, getting to the top of the “New” chart, as well as number 9 on the “Hot” chart! We’re all really proud of him, and of all of you for playing his songs on the site and helping his music get to masses. You can check out Z1 on thesixtyone at thesixtyone.com/zealous1.

Don’t miss ZeaLouS1 on the Takeover live this Sunday night at 6 PM PST / 9 PM EST!

Warp Zone Blast, Random’s 8th Day, and MAJA Live

Another week, another update!

This past weekend, ZeaLouS1 was in Hollywood, CA, to perform at The Warp Zone, and had an absolute blast! Some of his closest friends/family/colleagues were there, including IllGill, Random, GOSHone, and Anthony from Game Music 4 All.com, so there was a lot of hanging out, shop talk, and consumption of beverages that may or may not have been alcoholic in nature (this we can neither confirm nor deny, next question, please.) We captured video from the night, and it’s available at ZeaLouS1.com, which should really be seen, as ZeaLouS1 included two songs in his set he’s never performed live anywhere before, “The Takeover Theme,” and “The Takeover Chat Room Song.” Truly epic. Footage was also captured of Random’s set, and the freestyle session at the end, where Z1 and Ran performed for 200+ live viewers of the streaming Stickam feed, which was also epic, truly, and we’ll have that for you this weekend. It was an awesome party, and we can’t wait to do it again. Here’s a jumping little rendition of “Necrophilianomenon,” featuring IllGill, complete with girls shaking their . . . well, you know, on the dance floor :)

Unfortunately, that’s really it for news, as ZeaLouS1 is officially back in the studio, working on his next project, “Anthems for the Unrequited,” and we’re keeping that very much under tight wraps for now. But there are two news items from our extended family that we’d love to share with you.

As you know, tomorrow is 8-8-08, which means the highly anticipated release of the next project from Random, “The 8th Day.” We got our hands on an exclusive pre-release version this weekend, and . . . wow. Wow! “The 8th Day” is an incredible piece of art from Random, including samples and movements of everything from alt-rock to new wave then to R&B and back to funk! It’s entirely experimental, truly bold, and we’re happy to say it comes together beautifully. We always say that you will never be disappointed by a Random project, and this is no exception. Pick it up via his MySpace at myspace.com/random215 NOW!

Also tomorrow, those in Texas that are fans of Japanese Anime know it’s the start of San Japan 1.5, the 3-day Japanese culture and animation convention which takes place in San Antonio. We’re proud to announce to you that our BFF MAJA will be there live and in person! We really wish we could be there, as MAJA looks to be performing every day of the convention, as well as appearing on a panel or two. We’re really proud of our guy, so go out and support him, and video tape of his performances for YouTube, yeah?

Lastly, we want to remind you (yes, again) to vote for ZeaLouS1 in Eventful.com’s “Fire Up the Fans” Competition :) Z1 is currently at 30, which is incredible as heavy hitters Jesca Hoop (touring the UK with Elbow), Myxx (previous winners of Eventful’s DFest competition) and Opiate for the Masses (Century Media recording artists) tear through the rankings. We’re really proud of all of you that have Demanded ZeaLouS1 for this contest, keeping him right there in running with the big guys, but if you haven’t yet, it’d be incredibly awesome if you could now! Remember, if you’ve already Demanded Z1 before, but not for this contest, you can do it again to make your vote count. Thanks to everyone for helping ZeaLouS1!

Post-Comic-Con, The Warp Zone, and Awful Show Podcasts

Wow, it’s nearly August, which means the summer is almost over! We hope you’ve been having as much fun as we have, as this has been one of the best summers ZeaLouS1 has ever had.

Comic-Con came and went last week, and even though we didn’t actually go to the convention (we still can’t believe it sold out early) we did have fun hanging out with YTCracker, MC Lars and MC Frontalot. The G4/Strange Co. Comic-Con after-party was incredible, for three reasons: 1) Can you believe they had an open bar? Obviously no one was notified that Z1 was coming :P 2) Not only did we get to hang with the three icons of nerd music, who went on to perform incredible sets later in the night, but we also got to touch base with local rapper Nomad, who turned out to be one of the coolest guys we have met this entire year. [Add him to your MySpace friends list, because I"m sure he and ZeaLouS will soon be doing something, somewhere, together that will be all kinds of awesome.] Finally, 3) The girls! Wow, I guess once you get into a skin-tight costume, you really can’t get out of it so easily, so there was a nice amount of girls dressed up that evening, which we greatly appreciated, thank you so much ladies, you know who you are ;)

Didn’t get into the show? Didn’t even get into town? YTCracker’s film crew was on hand and shot this charged up live version of “Space Camp” with MC Lars:

Since the summer is coming to an end, we’re trying to get ZeaLouS1 on any stage we can, and IllGill was nice enough to set one up for us. This Saturday, August 2, Z1 and Ill will be live in person, and live on the Internet, at the Warp Zone, Ill’s own personal performance arena! It’s going to be a blast, as Ill has arranged for none other than Mega Ran, Random, of RAHM Nation! How cool is that? Also performing will be GOSHone, Kid Infinity, and ‘Lil Margot. If you’re local to SoCal, you have to come, and if you do, BYOB! (We’ll be bringing a little Pirate Killer for anyone daring enough to try it.) Check out Eventful.com for the full details.

The show will also be broadcast live over the Internet via Stickam, so no matter where you are, you’ll be able to see it. (A computer is required, though. An Internet connection would also probably be a good thing to have.) Visit The Warp Zone’s Stickam feed the night of the show for a live view of the stage.

We hoped you tuned into the Awful Show the other week and caught the hilarity that ensued as ZeaLouS1 jumped on as co-host. If you missed it, catch the podcast, episode 109, over at theawfulshow.com. Z1 also got in on the snack this week, so do be sure to check that out, too! You haven’t ever truly laughed until you’ve heard ZeaLouS1’s infamous prank calls :P

That’s it until next week! We’ll have some video up from the performance this Saturday, so be sure to keep on keeping tabs :)

Comic-Con, YTCracker/Frontalot/Lars Live, and “‘Til We Die”

Welcome to San Diego, everyone!

That phrase should be completely relevant, because the world’s entire population is in town this week for Comic-Con. And we are, too! (Well, we’re always in town, but still.) You know who else is in town this week? You might have heard of him, he’s kind of a big deal, Mr. YTCracker! We’re picking him up from the airport in a couple of hours, ’cause, yeah, we’re cool like that :P Guess who else will be arriving shortly. If you’ve heard of this thing called “Nerdcore,” you’ve definitely heard of him. Yep, the man that coined the phrase, MC Frontalot! Oh, and wow, guess who else is here, as if Crack and Front weren’t enough. The man, the myth, the legend, MC Lars! Can you believe it?! All three of these icons will be performing at the Jade Theatre TONIGHT at the Strange Co./G4 Comic-Con party! ZeaLouS1 will be there, though not performing . . . mostly drinking and hitting on Morgan Webb of X-Play. It’s going to be a great show, everyone’s all excited, so we highly encourage everyone in town, which should be everyone reading this, to come and party with us. The extravaganza begins at 9:00 PM, with the performances scheduled for 11:30 PM. Visit Eventful.com for more details!

Strange Co/G4 Flyer

This show is such a big deal, that it’s really all we’ve been thinking about all week :P We hope everyone is enjoying the new single, “‘Til We Die,” now available on Z1’s MySpace profile. We can’t believe how nice it turned out, big props to Random for contributing the beat. Visit his MySpace profile and add him, because the man continues to drop jaws with each and every release. The live video of ZeaLouS1 and ‘Lil HARMz performing the song at the Game Music 4 All.com anniversary show is up on the BOSSFIGHT Records YouTube Channel, and included just below for your convenience :)

Until next week! And remember, Demand ZeaLouS1!

NSE ‘08 Bound, and New Website, MySpace and Single

The time has come! Does everyone have their tickets???

Tomorrow morning, ZeaLouS1 leaves San Diego for Orlando to perform in front of the largest crowd of Nerdcore, Video Game, Wrock, Chiptune, Geek Music fans ever assembled in one place for Nerdapalooza SE ‘08! We hope to see everyone that can make it there. ZeaLouS1 will be performing at 8:00 PM EST, so everyone under 21 can still catch his performance before they kick you out at 10 PM (Florida law, sorry). He’ll be walking around, hanging out, signing autographs, so don’t be shy if you want to come up and say hi–he’s really, really nice, we promise ;) We’ll have copies of his latest CD, The Living Epitaph, available for sale in case you haven’t had a chance to pick it up, and of course he’ll take a moment to sign it for you.

We mentioned tickets in the beginning of this update, and every update for two months now :P but if you didn’t get your two-day passes, single day tickets will be available at the door in limited quantities, so if you’re going to the show, get there early! The earlier you get there, the more artists you get to see. Random, co-collaborator on the hot new Z1 single, will be performing at 1 PM on Friday, FYI.

But, speaking of Random, we have a little more info on the new track he and ZeaLouS1 have been putting together, the first announcement being that it’s finished! Yep, done and done. The second announcement we have is the name of the track, and that name is “‘Til We Die.” And, not only is Random behind the beat, but ZeaLouS1 also managed to get the beautifully voiced ‘Lil Harmz on, as well. We can’t wait for you to hear it, and you will, when it drops with the Rhyme Torrents 7 compilation on July 19. You’ll be able to download it from the MySpace profile, RhymeTorrents.org, and ZeaLouS1.com, naturally.

And, speaking of ZeaLouS1.com, it’s brand spanking new! We hope you like the summer gold theme that’s now featured on ZeaLouS1.com. Z1 himself really liked it, even though it’s not black and red :P But, we’ve really been feeling summer is looking good for all of us, so we’re going with it. The MySpace theme has also been switched up to reflect the website redesign, so we hope you check that out at myspace.com/zealous1.

And that’s it for us this week. We hope to see everyone in Orlando for Nerdapalooza!
