Recorded Performance, Lars & YTCrack, SinSix, and RTH3.0
Sorry we’re a day late, everyone in the Z1 camp is either suffering from a cold or stuck at work, so we’re seriously lagging this week.
Last week, ZeaLouS1 performed live in front of a very enthusiastic home crowd in San Marcos, CA. His radio show, The Takeover, attempted to bring it to you live via the Internet, but ultimately technical difficulties prevented that from happening. But the show’s audio was recorded, including the live performance from ZeaLouS1, so head over to 247Takeover.com to download it! And don’t forget to tune in live this upcoming Sunday night as The Takeover brings you another great show, and jump in the chat to interact with the cast and its fans.
Two big ZeaLouS1 music releases are being dropped this week, and we want to bring them to your foremost attention.
First up, The Takeover interviewed Madhatter of Scrub Club Records and new super-group Sinister Six just the other week, all to hype up the just released debut album from Sinister Six, “Invasion of the Mic Snatchers.” ZeaLouS1 is part of this release, contributing his anything but standard brand of in your face aggression and graceful, playful flow to many of the tracks. Rounding out the line-up are Madhatter, of course, but also YTCracker, Benjamin Bear, MC_Loki, and Chester. An incredible line-up that leads to an incredible production, you can download “Invasion” free of charge at the Scrub Club site.
Second, due out tomorrow, is something we’ve all been looking forward to, and that’s the release of the “Digital Gangster LP” from super-duo MC Lars & YTCracker! ZeaLouS1 is prominently featured on the track “Do the Bruce Campbell” with the two, along with nerd super-power, Shaffer the Darklord. The track is a hell of a ride, with thumping beats and wailing guitars, and Z1 comes through nicely. “Do the Bruce Campbell” is currently streaming from both MC Lars‘ and YTCracker’s MySpace pages, so check out the song, and then check back November 1 when the LP drops!
To close out, even though Z1 couldn’t get the time cleared to participate, we want to recommend downloading the new Rhyme Torrents Halloween 3.0 compilation. This is yet another comp of awesomeness filled to the brim of nerdcore talent, including IllGill, the Ranger, Devo Spice, Myf, MC wreckshin, MC_Loki, and more, all rockin’ out in the spirit of Halloween! Head over to Rhyme Torrents.org and download it tonight and play something decent for the trick-or-treaters this year instead of that CD of “spooky sounds” you bought from Wal-Mart for 99 cents 10 years ago :P
Hey everyone! Thanks go to those that thought about ZeaLouS1 and company during the Camp Pendleton fires last week, it was a crazy time with wildfires that close to where we lay our heads. Everyone’s fine, and we’re hearing the fires are completely contained, so thanks!
This week, we want to tell you that the Takeover podcast is up from last Sunday night, when ZeaLouS1 interviewed LA hip-hop artist Raven Sorvino, who has been in touch with everyone from the smallest local club kids to Dr. Dre. It was really a great interview, and her mix-tape is incredible, so we encourage everyone to download the podcast and find out more about her at 247Takeover.com!
The brand new flyer for the upcoming Game Music 4 All.com “West Coast Wig Out” is out with the final line-up. As we’ve said, performers include A_Rival, The Chubby Chasers, GOSHone, IllGill, Legendary Wizard, MAJA, MC Cheshire Grin, MC Mega, The Megas, Nomad, Sudden Death, Super Barrio Bros., and none other than ZeaLouS1. The date is November 15, the time is 12:00 PM, and the venue is CIA in Los Angeles, CA. For more details, including more information about the performing artists, visit Eventful.com.
Speaking of shows, Z1 just can’t seem to stay home and work in the studio! Along with KKSM radio show Subnation with Michael Diebert, ZeaLouS1 and the Takeover will once again try a live broadcast from Churchill’s Pub & Grill in San Marcos, CA, just down the road from the KKSM studios! This will be the Halloween episode of the Takeover, so there will be a costume contest, with a $50.00 cash prize! Not to mention that actual LIVE performances are currently being lined up; yes, ZeaLouS1 will be performing! This is an all ages event until 10 PM or so, so even if you’re underage, you’ll be able to catch the live broadcast of the Takeover as well as the performances before “The Man” kicks you out ;) We’re still getting all the details worked out, but check back next week and we’ll have the full info all laid out for you! More details can also be found as always at Eventful.com.
Finally, we completely forgot to mention last week that the RhymeTorrents 2v2 Tournament that saw ZeaLouS1 and MAJA band together as the dynamic duo Team Shinra has been mastered into a compilation available for free download at rhymetorrents.org! There are some great artists on this comp, including IllGill, MC Gigahertz, Madhatter, the Ranger, all along with Z1 and MAJA. Be sure to download it and check out the rest of the brand new RhymeTorrents site!
Escape from LA, the Takeover, Order TLE, and Team Shinra
Hey everyone! Here’s this week’s update:
Last weekend, ZeaLouS1 performed twice over the weekend in Los Angeles, CA, closing out his summer tour schedule with a double barrel shotgun bang! HIs first date was his second appearance at IllGill’s Warp Zone, where he performed a solid set in front of a tightly packed room full of Hollywood’s young and trendy. All we can say is if you have a chance in the future to drop into the Warp Zone and party with IllGill, we highly recommend you do so, most definitely.
ZeaLouS1’s final summer date was a quick stop in downtown LA on the way home to San Diego at the Tribal Cafe, a hip little spot that’s part coffee house, part live venue. After downing a couple of fruit smoothies for courage, Z1 got up and represented his brand of Nerdcore hip-hop incredibly well, getting everybody going, ages 5-55 :) We have a couple of videos of that performance in the BOSSFIGHT Records YouTube Channel, and here’s one of those, a great silhouette version of “Evermore:”
With ZeaLouS1 back in the studio for the winter, readying his new album for a drop in 2009, there’s going to be a lot of downtime in the news department. Thankfully, the Takeover, hosted by none other than Z1 himself, will make it’s official return this Sunday night for a brand new season! If you’ve never heard of the Takeover before, it’s a live weekly radio/Internet broadcast hosted by ZeaLouS1 featuring in-depth discussions regarding zombies, teen celebrities and all of the latest Nerdcore hip-hop rumors, interviews with actors, comedians, and musicians, and of course plays of all the latest and greatest hip-hop, rock, pop and alternative music. The Takeover is a great way to get to know ZeaLouS1 better and find out what’s going on in his world and mind every week, and with the chat room at 247Takeover.com, you can converse with him directly and even participate in the show! ZeaLouS1 and the Takeover crew really hopes everyone can tune in live, but if you can’t, you can always download the broadcast via MP3/iTunes to listen whenever you want from the links on the website. The Takeover airs every Sunday night at 6 PM PST, 9 PM EST, on AM 1320 in San Diego, or globally on the Internet at 247Takeover.com!
We have an apology to make to a few of you :( For the past month, a technical error has prevented some of you from ordering ZeaLouS1’s latest album, “The Living Epitaph.” We really apologize for this, we had no idea until a dedicated fan brought it to our attention. We’re happy to say that orders are once again shipping, and if you ordered your copy of the album this week, it is now officially in the mail. To make up for the mixup, we’re bringing back the special we had last Christmas by giving everyone that orders the new album a second copy to give to a friend. We hope this more than makes up for everything :)
Something we completely forgot to mention last week (more apologies) ZeaLouS1 and his BFF MAJA have joined forces and entered into an MC battle tournament as “Team Shinra” over at the new Rhyme Torrents.org! This means completely new songs featuring the two monster rappers! The songs are entries into the tournament, so while they’re not “official” releases, they’re still great to download and bump :D You can check out the latest tracks at the Rhyme Torrents.org forums, and don’t forget to tell Z1 and MAJA what you think of “Team Shinra”!
That’s it for this week, don’t forget, the Takeover LIVE this Sunday!
ZeaLouS1 and MAJA have entered a a team battle MC competition at RhymeTorrents.org as Team Shinra! Go to the forums under “Battles & Beefs” to download and comment on their entries.
Rhyme Torrents Volume 7, featuring the new single by ZeaLouS1, “‘Til We Die,” is now available from RhymeTorrents.org! The two “disc” digital compilation also features other great names such as Random, funky49, IllGill, Whoremoans, Don Vito, and Ham-STAR. While ZeaLouS1’s single is available for play and download at his MySpace Profile, you can download the entire compilation from RhymeTorrents.org. We hope you enjoy!
NSE ‘08 Bound, and New Website, MySpace and Single
The time has come! Does everyone have their tickets???
Tomorrow morning, ZeaLouS1 leaves San Diego for Orlando to perform in front of the largest crowd of Nerdcore, Video Game, Wrock, Chiptune, Geek Music fans ever assembled in one place for Nerdapalooza SE ‘08! We hope to see everyone that can make it there. ZeaLouS1 will be performing at 8:00 PM EST, so everyone under 21 can still catch his performance before they kick you out at 10 PM (Florida law, sorry). He’ll be walking around, hanging out, signing autographs, so don’t be shy if you want to come up and say hi–he’s really, really nice, we promise ;) We’ll have copies of his latest CD, The Living Epitaph, available for sale in case you haven’t had a chance to pick it up, and of course he’ll take a moment to sign it for you.
We mentioned tickets in the beginning of this update, and every update for two months now :P but if you didn’t get your two-day passes, single day tickets will be available at the door in limited quantities, so if you’re going to the show, get there early! The earlier you get there, the more artists you get to see. Random, co-collaborator on the hot new Z1 single, will be performing at 1 PM on Friday, FYI.
But, speaking of Random, we have a little more info on the new track he and ZeaLouS1 have been putting together, the first announcement being that it’s finished! Yep, done and done. The second announcement we have is the name of the track, and that name is “‘Til We Die.” And, not only is Random behind the beat, but ZeaLouS1 also managed to get the beautifully voiced ‘Lil Harmz on, as well. We can’t wait for you to hear it, and you will, when it drops with the Rhyme Torrents 7 compilation on July 19. You’ll be able to download it from the MySpace profile, RhymeTorrents.org, and ZeaLouS1.com, naturally.
And, speaking of ZeaLouS1.com, it’s brand spanking new! We hope you like the summer gold theme that’s now featured on ZeaLouS1.com. Z1 himself really liked it, even though it’s not black and red :P But, we’ve really been feeling summer is looking good for all of us, so we’re going with it. The MySpace theme has also been switched up to reflect the website redesign, so we hope you check that out at myspace.com/zealous1.
And that’s it for us this week. We hope to see everyone in Orlando for Nerdapalooza!
